Lovingly nicknamed "Kit's Killer Cab" by co-founder Kit Crawford after tasting the first barrel samples of this wine 20 years ago, this wine is an important part of our Clif Family story.

Tasting Notes
The 2021 vintage is a deep purple beauty that opens with an enticing bouquet of juicy blueberries and vibrant raspberries, laced with hints of earthy cedar and decadent mocha. The lush embrace on the palate is balanced by bright acidity, keeping things lively and refreshing. Polished tannins dance gracefully with layers of fruit, creating a textured and harmonious experience that lingers long after the last sip.

Vineyard
This wine is made with organically farmed grapes from our Valle Di Sotto Estate Vineyard located in the heart of the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The Oak Knoll District is located at the southern end of the Napa Valley where cooling marine influences create a unique micro-climate that helps the grapes maintain bright fruit flavors and retain acidity.

Winemaking
Hand harvested in the cool morning hours, the fruit is hand sorted before and after the destemmer. After a 3-day cold soak, the juice is inoculated with cultured yeast. During fermentation, temperature and extraction are carefully managed. The wine is then pressed off the skins and placed in French oak barrels for aging.
