ABOUT 

Launched in December 2023 as an exclusive for the Namazake Paul Advent Calendar, it was so popular we are making it available individually. This is a Daiginjo purpose brewed to win competitions... now in a cup!  Using a small amount of distilled alcohol, the father-son Takeda team extracts extra explosive aromas of tropical melon. The finish has some umami depth from the rice grown just 20 minutes away from the brewery. 

SERVING

You can enjoy this on its own or the brewer suggests green olives to really help it shine.  

BREWERY

Takeda Shuzo is located in the coastal fishing village of Joetsu. Seizaemon Takeda started brewing in Kamiko Funatsu, a small fishing boat moorage, at the end of the Edo Period (1866). In 1990 Shigenori Takeda was appointed the current director and he is now joined by his son Haruki (10th gen). Only four other brewery workers and they grew the rice!
